A lost crab trying to get back to the beach, a hungry dolphin chasing a fish, a clownfish looking for its coral reef: these free ocean mazes come four to a set, with the answers on two pages at the end. Pick an age, download the PDF and print it on US Letter paper, at home or for a class.

The maze itself is what changes with age. For a three-year-old the paths are wide enough to follow with a finger or a chunky crayon. By eight or nine the maze has many more turns, and the paths are narrow enough that a pencil works better.

What does the maze look like at each age?

Age	The maze
Ages 3 to 4	A few turns and very wide paths, made for a finger or a chunky crayon. A 4 × 4 grid with 20 mm paths.
Ages 4 to 5	More forks where your child chooses which way to go. A 6 × 6 grid with 16 mm paths.
Ages 5 to 6	A longer route that rewards a quick look ahead. A 9 × 9 grid with 13 mm paths.
Ages 6 to 7	Narrower paths that suit a colored pencil. A 12 × 12 grid with 11 mm paths.
Ages 7 to 9	The longest of the five, with thin paths and plenty of detours. A 17 × 17 grid with 9 mm paths.
